Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) helps people with a variety of stressors such as job-related stress, family and relationship tension, medical illness, work-life balance, depression, and anxiety, to name a few. MBSR is a stress tolerance skills building curriculum based on the theory of mindfulness and supported by research in neuroscience. It includes informal and formal meditation, breathing techniques, and mindful movement focused on intentionally being aware of your present experience moment by moment. Benefits sighted from MBSR research include improved ability to cope with stressful situations, increased focus, innovation, and creativity, a more positive mood, decrease in pain symptoms, decrease in cadiac symptoms, improved immune system, surge in energy level, improved sleep, and overall uplift in well being.
